Our first night, we dined at the large restaurant pictured in IMG_6384. As we left, there were musicians playing downstairs, but unfortunately we had not been able to hear them upstairs and we did not have time to stop and listen.

Our second dinner was the famous Peking Duck. That part was delicious. Possibly the best thing I ate in China. But there wasn't nearly enough of it to make for an entire meal, so there were many side dishes.. among them: scorpions. So, for the record... they are very salty and crunchy. Quite edible, but not exactly tasty. A few of the band members refused to try the scorpions (and it's not purely a cultural thing, apparently... Ping later said that she wouldn't have eaten them either). They might not have missed out on great eating, but they missed out on an experience. If you ever go to China and are offered scorpions... you should at least try the damn things!
